Fashion icons like Beyonce make popular, designer items and many trends, leaving women desiring smaller, more lean bodies of their own to fit in size zero dresses. The conclusion of this is that they must diet in order to fit in these classy designer dresses. Girls nowadays see being thin as a vessel to belonging in today's world and in their own cliques. Falling dress sizes and crash weight loss is very dangerous and needs to be correctly managed from day one because of the danger of crash dieting with long term health issues.

One of the first steps you need to take when taking part in weight loss is to analyse what you want from it. Planning is a primary ingredient to losing weight because this is what helps with building up your motivation. Thus before starting any healthy diet plan, pick up and pen and paper and write down some key points that you can successfully achieve. A good start is weighing yourself, recording the weight down and then setting 7 day targets of 2-3lbs or monthly targets of 3-5kgs.

An exercise regime is not compulsory but it can help by increasing the weight loss process, resulting in a healthy approach, if you are running off the body fat and keeping your muscles and organs working. So if you enjoy gardening, dancing or gymnastics, start doing this for 30 minutes a day, or take up new activities such as swimming, playing football or even playing badminton. If you're not an exercise type or are self conscious of exercising in public then try using a stepper or a rowing machine in the luxury of your own home.

Why not treat yourself to a new top or DVD, for the demanding work you have put in. After reaching a few of your immediate milestones, treat oneself or you may lose the will and longing to carry on, which won't help with meeting your goals. Even the infrequent naughty treat won't matter, as long as it helps you to refocus on dieting and making the targets. It would certainly be worth it to keep you moving towards your goals and help you to find the newer, more energetic you!

Above all we diet to look good and feel confident. Most people lose weight in the spring time for a few reasons. Firstly, after the winter period they may have put on a few pounds that they want to lose but mainly because they want to prepare themselves for their summer vacations where they will be lying on the beach, in a bikini, or a pair of swim shorts. The fear of hundreds of people seeing you in a vulnerable state will make you want to diet, so weight loss and exercise play a major part in this.

After all the hard work, the notion of getting into the dress or clothes that you couldn't before can help to increase your confidence and make a greater you - this is why we do it.
